  • Every single fragrance oil we use is phthalate free and made without ingredients found on California’s Proposition 65 list (HELLO ONTARIO! We should really have one of these lists…)

    Clean Scent™ fragrances go one step further by also avoiding these 5 main hazard groups:

    • Carcinogens: These are materials known or thought to cause cancer.

    • Mutagens: Materials that change the DNA of a cell, harming the cell and causing diseases like cancer.

    • Reproductive toxins: toxins that adversely affect reproductive organs and increase the risk of birth defects.

    • Organ toxins: These are toxins that can cause adverse effects or disease within specific bodily organs.

    • Acute toxins: toxins that can cause adverse effects from a single exposure. Generally, this would be accidental exposure like spillage or ingestion.

  • The International Fragrance Association (IFRA) and the Research Institute for Fragrance Materials (RIFM) are the two organizations involved with developing standards for fragrance materials. IFRA examines the research conducted by RIFM, and informed by that data, sets standards for the use of fragrance materials.

Our Story

Every story has a beginning. Ours starts with Senior Kindergarten. No, not life long friends like you read about in the books but, soul sisters who found each other when their five year olds met and then became best friends.

After going years without picking up a book I (Amy) finally decided to give those spicy faerie books a go and there I was in the middle of the Maasverse and needing someone to talk to about it. Finally a year later, after I bugged her over and over Jen dove in with the audio books and was hooked.

Since then we have found a passion for romance and fantasy novels, with a little (or a lot) of spice and wanted to create a way to share that passion with the world and so we created The Trove. Our hope with The Trove is that we inspire other women to re-discover their love of reading and to create a romance genre community where we share our favourite books, chat about the tropes we love, gossip about the spice, and dream about the amazing worlds these authors create .

Candle Care

How to Get the Most Out of Your Candle

  • Trim the wick to 1/4 inch before lighting

  • Do not burn continuously for more than 4 hours

  • Rough pitted tops are normal with soy wax candles and do not affect burning

  • To avoid tunneling ensure the melted wax reaches the edges

  • Frosting on the top is normal with soy wax and does not affect burning
