Our Story
The Trove was born from a love of stories that stay with you—long after the final page. As readers who fell back in love with books later in life, we found ourselves completely immersed in richly built worlds, unforgettable characters, and a little bit of spice we couldn’t get enough of.
We wanted a way to hold onto that feeling… so we started creating it.
Each of our candles is hand-poured in small batches using natural soy wax and clean fragrance oils, thoughtfully blended to capture the essence of the characters and stories we love most. Because what you burn in your space matters just as much as how it makes you feel.
Our goal is simple: to create a cozy, elevated experience that lets you step back into your favorite worlds whenever you light the wick.

What makes our candles clean & safe to burn?
We believe in creating candles that are clean and cozy. That’s why we use 100% natural soy wax, which burns longer and cleaner than traditional paraffin wax—no toxins, no soot, just pure ambiance. Our wooden wicks ensure an even burn, free from harmful additives, so you can enjoy your favorite scents worry-free. Paired with our phthalate-free, clean-burning fragrance oils, our candles are designed to fill your space with enchanting aromas while being safe for you and the environment.
What makes a fragrance a "clean scent"?
Every single fragrance oil we use is phthalate free and made without ingredients found on California’s Proposition 65 list (HELLO ONTARIO! We should really have one of these lists…)
Clean Scent™ fragrances go one step further by also avoiding these 5 main hazard groups:
- Carcinogens: These are materials known or thought to cause cancer.
- Mutagens: Materials that change the DNA of a cell, harming the cell and causing diseases like cancer.
- Reproductive toxins: toxins that adversely affect reproductive organs and increase the risk of birth defects.
- Organ toxins: These are toxins that can cause adverse effects or disease within specific bodily organs.
- Acute toxins: toxins that can cause adverse effects from a single exposure. Generally, this would be accidental exposure like spillage or ingestion.
Where do we ship?
We currently only ship to Canada and the United States.
Where are our candles made?
Our bookish candles are created, hand-poured, packaged, and shipped out from our studio in Barrie, ON, Canada.
What is our processing time?
We are a small business and hand-pour our candles, so our typical processing time may lengthen from 1-4 days to 7-10 days during the holiday season, depending completely on order sizes and shipping backlogs.

If you ever need to get an order by a specific date, please contact us at the.trove.books@gmail.com to see if we can accommodate your request. We do not guarantee delivery dates, but we will do our best to get your order to you as soon as we can!
Want to check the status of your order?
When your order has shipped, you will receive an email notification from us that includes a tracking number you can use to check its status. Please allow 48 hours for the tracking information to become available. If you haven’t received your order within 10 days of receiving your shipping confirmation email, please contact us at the.trove.books@gmail.com with your name and order number, and we will look into it for you as soon as possible.
HOW TO GET THE MOST OUT OF YOUR CANDLE
Candle Care
- Trim the wick to 1/4 inch before lighting
- Do not burn continuously for more than 4 hours
- Rough pitted tops are normal with soy wax candles and do not affect burning
- To avoid tunneling ensure the melted wax reaches the edges
- Frosting on the top is normal with soy wax and does not affect burning
